A renowned Senior High School known as Odorgonno Senior High School in the Greater Accra region sited in Awoshie, in the Anyaa Sowutuom Electoral Area school authorities has been accused for charging 50 Ghana cedis fees from parents as PTA levy.
Seventy year old Odorgonno Senior High School has become a first class senior high school in the country . The school is embarking on infrastructure expansion as well as strengthening its teaching and non-teaching staff to match its quest for excellence.
Mrs. Mary Amankwa, Headmistress, told the Parents that the school is embarking on some unfinished school Library project, so all parents whose children are enjoying the free SHS must pay 50 Ghana cedis to the school the facilitate the quick finish of the project.
Speaking to Top fm’s reporter Dr. DJ , the parents of the incoming free SHS students told him that the school authorities are using a professional method in taking money from them instead of following the steps of the government approved free education system.
They continued that the school authorities are are now charging them 20 Ghana cedis for networking and 30 Ghana cedis for PTA levy which they think has been taking over by the government.
They therefore appealed to the government to come to their aid else the free SHS will be something else.
